Summer 2013 Bucket List

Last summer was a blur.  I had a newborn, my gall bladder was removed, I went back to work and I was loosing my hair.  I was in deep with post partum hormones and frankly – I was a donkey on the edge.

This summer we have a toddler.  He is walking/running everywhere, he talking more and every time he see’s something new, he goes “Oh, Wow!” Heart.  Melt. 

I want this summer to be fun.  Full of little adventures for our little guy.  I want to show him ALL THE THINGS! During the week im just a stress ball at work so when I get home and on weekends, it’s all about him and Mike.  Here’s to a fun filled summer!

Why Yes, I went to Comic Con

So the other day, Vincent and I were perusing the isles of Target.  I was sipping away on my Icee and he was desperately trying to get a sip when I overheard a couple of Target employees nerd talking it up about Comic Con going on in Novi and how Stan Lee was even going to be there (if you don’t know who Stan Lee, don’t feel bad.  I didn’t know until like a year ago.  But the dude is a legend and like 90 years old)

As I heard this news, I quickly found a vacant isle and checked my phone and sure as shit it was last weekend (May 17-19) So I bought us a day pass.  And I actually had a blast.  Mike and I even talked about going every year.  If not anything, it was highly entertaining.

That Time I Did a 5K

If you remember from this post.  I mentioned that I wanted to do a 5k before my 28th birthday.  I put it on there as a lofty goal as I am just not a runner.  It’s a dream of mine, but it’s just not a reality.  However back in November (maybe, cant remember) I saw early registration for the Color Run in Ypsi, MI.  If you don’t know what the color run is – it is described as the Happiest 5K on the Planet.  You’re not timed.  There was every walk of life there.  Old, young, babies, toddlers, men, woman, avid runners, avid walkers, teens – I saw it all.  And I did it.  I walked/light jogged the full 3.1 miles and guess what?! I loved it! I had a blast! I went with my mom’s friend from churches daughter, Amanda. 

Seriously, because I had so much fun – I plan on doing it again every year moving forward – seriously.  BLASTY BLAST my friends.  I also overheard there were over 15,000 people at this run.  15,000! Too cool.  Here are some pics and a video from the day.

3 Years

This past weekend, Mike took me out to celebrate our three year anniversary.  It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 whole years married and 5.5 years total with him.  This past weekend he took me to Andiamo’s for dinner where we had the most delightfully sinful meal ever.  We’re talking about filet, lobster and white truffle mashed potato's. We’re talking about caprese salad, wine and caramelized onions.  AMAZING.

After dinner we went to our hotel where we stayed for the night.  The Hotel Henry – Autograph Collection and let me tell you these pics don’t do the room OR the hotel justice.  Absolutely gorgeous

 

After we checked in we went to the Imax theatre and saw a movie.  After thee movie we went back to the hotel, saw in the pool and totally and utterly relaxed.  The best part!? SLEEPING IN! AMEN! Sleeping in till 7:30 on my own clock and leisurely moving in the morning was HEAVEN ON EARTH PEOPLE.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots of the years.  I love you Michael James with all my heart.  Thank you for loving me and being patient with me.  You are the most amazing and attentive father to Vincent and seeing you as a father is the absolute most amazing thing ever.
