Girls Weekend

I was first contemplating on going because Vincent got a last minute fever.  Mike and I both agreed it was probably brought on by three teeth coming in at once, one being a molar.  I was stressed.  I was burnt out.  I was a little a lot on edge and I needed some time away.  So, I went.  And boy and I glad I did! I had such an amazing time.

We left around 8:45ish AM.  A quick pit stop for a starbucks and we were on the road.  It took about 2 1/2 hours to get there and the traffic was fine.  We had lunch at an adorable little café called Crane In The City.

After lunch we perused some of the stores and window shopped.  We even went into a bridal boutique to have Courtney try on some wedding dresses.  She is going to be a very pretty bride!

We then headed to the beach.  MI is usually sweltering in the summer, especially at the end of July.  So it was kind of surprising how un-seasonably COLD it was.  We didn’t swim – in fact we weren’t allowed too – because of how windy and choppy the waves were! We still had a good time at the beach and ended up getting some amazing pics.

After our adventure at the beach.  We headed back to the hotel for a quick swim at the pool – we wanted to get SOME use out of our suits! After swimming we headed to Theodores for a nice dinner.  The place was in a refurbished/remodeled factory.  It was SO cool!

After dinner we grabbed some ice cream and headed back to the beach to see the waves rolling in and the clouds floating by.  How romantic.

We came back to the hotel, had a cocktail, chit chatted a bit than promptly fell asleep!

We slept in – how glorious! And packed up our bags to head out.  But first we needed some grub! We originally wanted to go to the Biscuit but it was over an hour wait so we ended up at the windmill.  It was delish.  After breakfast we got another Starbucks for the road and we were on our way home.

Ragtime at Greenfield Village

A couple weeks a go we took the kids and ourselves to Greenfield Village for their street fair Ragtime show.  It was absolutely darling but so HOT – I cannot even imagine how the dancers felt in their full fledge costume’s in that heat.  Bless.  I think next time we will try some of the food they had there too – it smelled delicious! Here are a couple of my favorite shots!
